Summary

Discover the potential of creating a finished design directly on fabric, using relaxed and playful silkscreen techniques. Cutting, slashing tearing and drawing with a seam ripper will create the marks that provide paper resists for our silkscreened compositions. The design and use of thermofax screens will be explored and will allow us to add a variety of textures to our work. Using blank silkscreen to add solid colors of dye, complex designs can be achieved by layering areas of thickened dyes with these multiple techniques. Beautiful fabrics can be used as quilts or simply as “art cloth”. All levels. [Materials list in detailed description]

Teaching Artist: Judy Langille
Class dates: Wednesdays, May 10-June 14. 6 weeks

Registration fee includes materials fee:
Regular: $425 | Members: $382.50
