Description

Representational Drawing is now online.  This class will provide children a studio experience from their own home. All lessons will be led by our Teaching Artist Aarti Mantri and allow your child to socialize with other students in the class. You must have internet on a device with a built in camera to participate. If you have always wanted to create realistic drawings, you will want to take this class. We will explore a variety of drawing techniques to help you become independent at drawing realistic art. Working in black and white and color, we will explore contour drawings, observational drawing, value and shading, and proportions. In this session, we will focus on still-life and perspective drawing in particular.

About the Teaching Artist
Aarti Mantri is a freelance artist in acrylic and mixed media paintings based in New Jersey. Art has always been a part of her since childhood; she was inspired and encouraged by her mother who is an artist in India. She is an Interior Designer and worked for over 5 years in the field, specializing in stained glass and landscaping. Nonetheless, her passion for fine arts forced her to pursue a career as a painter. Aarti conducts classes and workshops for children and adults for over 9 years now, and is a certified Grumbacher Art instructor. Her paintings were recently on view at libraries, and have been included in exhibitions at Community Centers and achieved “Honorable Mention Award” in April 2017 for one of her paintings.
