Friday: Beginning Ballet [Ages 3-5]

Princeton Dance & Theater's Beginning Ballet uses dance as an effective tool to engage young children while helping them to understand and control their body’s movements. Our instructor will lead students in a stretch/warm-up session, followed by basic Ballet technique, vocabulary, and fun dance games. Gentlemen are encouraged to attend -- no bun or tutu required. A strong foundation in dance can lead to success in a wide variety of athletic endeavors.

About the Teaching Artist: Elyse Mertz received her dance degree from Rutgers University (focusing on dance and improvisation). She is currently an instructor for the young dance division of Princeton Dance and Theater. Elyse's teaching method is not only influenced by her ballet training at Princeton Dance and Theater, but also reflects her background in yoga. She is very excited to bring her knowledge to the West Windsor Arts Council!
