Description
Hand weaving is a time-honored, educational, and fun activity for children and adults alike. This class will cover the foundational methods used in weaving and is designed to encourage children’s development of creativity, finger dexterity and concentration. Weaving also helps expand basic geometric skills.
About the Teaching Artist
Milee Ahn is an interior architect and has two master’s degrees, one in interior architecture from Drexel University, and one in weaving from Ewha Women’s University in Korea, with the master’s thesis titled “A study on the works of woven fabric for interior design with decorative lighting’. Before becoming a full time interior architect, Milee served as a director of a pop textile studio in Seoul where she taught graduate students, and has taught weaving and textile art to adults and children since then.
