Description

This fun and exciting class will teach you unique techniques to manipulate acrylics in both traditional and non-traditional ways. Each week, a new painting technique will be demonstrated to apply to your projects. See what stippling, washes, chemical additives and more can do to take your acrylic painting to exciting new places!

 

Materials:

8 11”x14” Canvas Board; 3 16”x20” Canvas; 1 palette pad (disposable pages) or wood/plastic mixing palette; 1 metal or plastic palette knife; 1 set of acrylic brushes ( #8 filbert, 1/2" flat, #2 or #3 round); 1 smock/apron (optional; Acrylic Paints: Cadmium Medium Yellow, Cadmium Red, Ultramarine Blue or Phthalo Blue, Mars Black and Titanium White [no particular brant; students may bring more colors they would like to use]

About the Teaching Artist
Emily Buchalski is a New Jersey-based artist. In May 2018, Buchalski earned her BFA, cum laude, with a concentration in sculpture, from Mason Gross School of the Arts. For years, she has gained experience teaching individuals of all ages with all different types of mediums, always making her student's artistic needs her number one priority. She earned a position as a visual arts adjunct professor at Mercer County Community College. In her own artistic practice, Buchalski focuses on sculpture and painting. She specializes in mixing different mediums and styles to create unique pieces of artwork.
