Description

Paying close attention to imagery and various poetic forms, this class will encourage participants to generate new work both in and out of the classroom. In this class we will look to each other and other published poets for inspiration as we hone our own poetic voices through the use of writing prompts, discussion, critique, and revision.

About the Teaching Artist: Eloise Bruce has a BFA, MFA and M Ed.   She began her career at the Asolo Theatre/the state theatre of Florida, directed for the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, is the founder of Idaho Theatre for Youth and was Artistic Director of Creative Theater in Princeton. In 2004 her first book of poetry, Rattle, was published by CavenKerry Press. Over the years she has had various roles at the Frost Place Center for Poetry and the Arts in Franconia, NH. She is a member of the poetry critique and performance group Cool Women and works as a teaching artist for Young Audiences of NJ and Playwright’s Theatre and teaches multi-genre writing to middle school writers at the Arts and Education Center.
