Description

Perfect for beginners, active auditioners looking for coaching, and for those who wish to build confidence singing in front of others.  Gain the confidence you need to sing for an audience, and learn about the proper ways to get the best vocal sound and how to act while doing so. We start with warm-ups and exercises that allow us to practice our singing technique and then use that technique as we learn 4-5 songs/scenes from musicals. We also practice techniques to help calm the nerves and prepare ourselves for performing. On the last day of the session, we will invite friends and families to a performance of the songs and scenes!

About the Singing Broadway Curriculum: The curriculum emphasizes repertoire building, performance techniques and crtique to improve performances.

About the Teaching Artist:  Natalie Pica has a degree in vocal music education from The College of New Jersey. She has performed in musicals since she was in elementary school, and started singing opera while in college. She's held lead roles in TCNJ's Lyric Theater productions (musical theater and opera) and chorus roles in La Boheme Opera Company's productions. Natalie is currently a general music and chorus teacher at two elementary schools in Hamilton Township.
