Description

Felt is one of the oldest known textiles and is perhaps one of the most unique and versatile fabrics available. Learn several methods for working with felt and discover the possibilities of its unique artistic properties. Each week you will complete a new project and learn progressively advanced techniques. You will make an accessory as you learn basic principles of wet felting, gain an understanding of color blend and composition as you create wall art, learn Shashiko stitch on felt as you form a mixed media composition, experiment with 3D felt as you work with resist to create a seamless accessory, learn about Nuno felt to create an accessory using silk and wool fibers, and finally combine felt and Shibori to create a 3D surface manipulation. Instructor will supply wool and other fibers.

Materials: bubble wrap; liquid soap; towels; pool noodle; scissors; apron (optional)
