Wednesdays: Drawing Foundations Black, White, Color III online [Ages 11-14]

Drawing Foundations Black, White, Color III is now online.  This class will provide children a studio experience from their own home. All lessons will be led by our Teaching Artist <teacher’s name> and allow your child to socialize with other students in the class. You must have internet on a device with a built in camera to participate. Continue building on skills learned in the Foundations II course, such as free hand drawing, pencil shading in 2D and 3D forms, still life, conceptual and creative drawing, and more. Students will learn a step by step approach to building up a painting or drawing and understand the qualities of a good composition. We will further deepen our understanding of creating with black and white as well as color to help us use drawing concepts of hue, tone, shading, and light sources.

  About the Teaching Artist

Emily Buchalski is a New Jersey-based artist. In May 2018, Buchalski earned her BFA, cum laude, with a concentration in sculpture, from Mason Gross School of the Arts. For years, she has gained experience teaching individuals of all ages with all different types of mediums, always making her student’s artistic needs her number one priority. She earned a position as a visual arts adjunct professor at Mercer County Community College. In her own artistic practice, Buchalski focuses on sculpture and painting. She specializes in mixing different mediums and styles to create unique pieces of artwork.
