Description

In this class children will learn the skills needed to create great photos and how to edit them in Photoshop Elements.  Each class children will be using their camera to create photos.  Children will then learn how to upload the photos onto their computer and use fun edits in Photoshop Elements.  We will also be printing images on various papers for different effects. 

Materials to bring to class: 1. Camera (phone camera is fine), 2. Laptop with any version of Photoshop Elements, [all cords needed to transfer photos to laptop, power cord for laptop], and 3. USB thumb drive.

About the Teaching Artist: Kimberly Ducote-Schimmel has been a successful commercial photographer for over 25 years and taught photography for 10 years. She holds a BS in Studio Art from SUNY at Stony Brook, with a minor in Photography. She began her photographic business in NYC photographing for advertisements, brochures, catalogs, magazines and editorials for major corporations, local businesses, and the media, working both in the studio and on location. Her work has been exhibited and won several awards. She is currently teaching at Rutgers State University, and West Windsor Arts Center. Throughout her years of teaching, she attempts to inspire students by imparting to them the technical knowledge they need to create the photograph they desire.
