Summary

Our workshop will focus on the benefits of discerning the "jewel point" of a larger narrative one wishes to relay. For our purposes, a "jewel point" here is a clearly, realistically depicted incident, occurring during a short period of time, that somehow captures the arc of the larger story--what has come before this moment, and what very well may happen after.

During the November 5th session, we will examine poems that use jewel points to covey larger stories. Participants will then have two weeks to write their own "jewel point" poems, which will be workshopped by the larger group on November 19th.
