Description

Ever wanted to try urban sketching? Similar to Plein Air, this class will show you how to capture busy scenes quickly using a very simple kit comprised of a water brush, pen and sketchpad. Learn the techniques for urban sketching on location in various places throughout the Princeton area. You'll learn about getting the perspective, proportion and gesture just right in a relaxed workshop setting that is suitable for all levels. First class meets at WWAC, students will receive a schedule of locations in the first session.
 

Materials: Watercolor paper sketchbook; Uniball non-permanent ink pen; waterbrush

About the Teaching Artist
Anne Kullaf is a contemporary painter working in a variety of media. Her paintings utilize the principles of drawing from direct observation combined with efficient brushwork and a limited palette. She is a faculty member of the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, the Hunterdon Museum of Art, and the Center for Contemporary Art. A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, she received a Bachelor of Science in graphic design and fine art and also studied painting at The Art Students League of NY. In 2014, she was painter-in-residence at Bryan Park, NYC and was recently invited to teach a watercolor workshop at the Princeton University Museum of Art. More about Anne here.
