Come sketch and paint outside at Washington Crossing Historic Park. In this class, students will use watercolor and pen & ink to create sketches and paintings of the river, bridge, colonial era houses and much more.  Learn techniques for capturing the subject matter quickly by simplifying shapes and understanding the importance of light and shadow.  Proportion, perspective and capturing the gesture of the subject will be covered in detail.

Materials List:
- Small or medium sized watercolor sketchbook, or a watercolor block if you prefer, nothing bigger than 9x12 and make sure it is 140 lb cold press paper
- Pointed round watercolor brush in a #4, #8 and #10 size (or whatever you have that is close to those sizes)
- Uniball, Sharpie or Micron fine point pen
- Water container
- A small watercolor field kit--as long as it has red, blue and yellow in it, it will work just fine.  Bring what you have rather than buying something new.  You may also bring tube colors if you prefer them along with a SMALL mixing palette.
- A handful of paper towels or a small painting rag
- A beach or camp chair if you don't like to sit on the ground and don't want to rely on the benches being where you want to paint
