Inspired by last year's blooms in the Southern California desert, I chose this piece because the colors are ones I believe Priscilla would have chosen in her work.Lenora Kandiner has been driven to create since early childhood, though difficulties in her holding a pencil or brush properly caused art teachers to criticize her drawing and painting, and led Lenora to explore three-dimensional expression. The demands of academic work in high school made her stop spending hours in the wood shop with a hammer and chisel in her hands. In more recent years, Priscilla's drawing classes allowed her to realize that she could create in two dimensions. During her long career in information technology, she discovered polymer clay, and found a medium where she could create in the small bits of time she had available. She first met Priscilla when Priscilla stopped at her craft show booth and bought some of her work. Most recently she has become enamored of needle felting and dyes wool from friends sheep for the materials to create her paintings.
